What is Elara Wallet?

Elara Wallet is a non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet for Bitcoin (BTC) and Interchained (ITC). It features banking-grade security with multi-layer authentication, HD wallet support, and exclusive staking features for ITC holders.

What does "non-custodial" mean?

Non-custodial means YOU control your private keys and funds—not us. Elara never has access to your cryptocurrency. This gives you complete ownership and responsibility for your assets. We cannot recover lost wallets, reverse transactions, or freeze your funds.

Is Elara Wallet free?

Yes! Elara Wallet is completely free to download and use. All core features (wallet creation, sending, receiving, multi-wallet support) are free forever. We offer optional premium subscriptions that unlock advanced features like ITC staking and priority support.

What cryptocurrencies does Elara support?

Currently, Elara Wallet supports:

  • Bitcoin (BTC) - The original cryptocurrency
  • Interchained (ITC) - With exclusive staking features

How do I backup my wallet?

Your wallet is backed up using a 12-word seed phrase (also called a recovery phrase). When you create your wallet, write down these 12 words in order on paper and store it somewhere safe. NEVER take a photo or save it digitally. This seed phrase is the ONLY way to recover your wallet if you lose your phone.

I lost my seed phrase. Can you recover my wallet?

No. Because Elara is non-custodial, we never have access to your seed phrase or private keys. If you lose your seed phrase and lose access to your device, your funds are permanently lost. This is why backing up your seed phrase is critical!

I forgot my PIN. What should I do?

If you forgot your PIN but still have access to the app, you can restore your wallet using your 12-word seed phrase. Uninstall the app, reinstall it, then choose "Restore Wallet" and enter your seed phrase. You'll set a new PIN during the restore process.

Can I use Elara Wallet on multiple devices?

Yes! You can restore your wallet on any device using your 12-word seed phrase. However, be cautious—each device will have independent access to your funds. We recommend using one primary device and keeping backups secure.

How long do transactions take?

Transaction times vary by network:

  • Bitcoin: ~10 minutes per confirmation (6 confirmations recommended for large amounts)
  • Interchained: ~2 minutes per block
Choosing a higher fee (Fast) can speed up confirmation times during network congestion.

Why are transaction fees so high?

Transaction fees (called "miner fees" or "network fees") go to miners who secure the blockchain—NOT to Elara Wallet. Fees increase during network congestion. You can manually adjust fees in Elara using the +/- buttons. Lower fees = slower confirmation; higher fees = faster confirmation.

Can I import my BlueWallet into Elara?

Yes! Elara Wallet is fully compatible with BlueWallet. You can import your BlueWallet seed phrase into Elara and access all your funds. We support BIP39, BIP44, BIP49, and BIP84 derivation paths with 20+20 address gap limits (Blue Wallet standard).

What is a watch-only wallet?

A watch-only wallet lets you monitor addresses without having the private keys. You can see balances and transaction history, but you CANNOT send funds. This is useful for tracking cold storage wallets or monitoring someone else's address.

What is ITC staking?

ITC staking is an exclusive Elara Premium feature that allows Interchained holders to earn rewards while maintaining full custody of their funds. Stake your ITC to support the network and earn passive income. Baking features coming soon!

Is my data private?

Absolutely. Elara Wallet does NOT collect or store your private keys, seed phrases, transaction history, or balances. All sensitive data is encrypted locally on your device. We never upload your wallet data to servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
